Top Reasons Not to Skip Breakfast

Even though you have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you often skip it or grab something sugary on the way out the door.  Since Mom didn’t convince you to eat a good breakfast, we will try with the top 3 reasons why breakfast is so important and 3 places to get breakfast near your Pompano Beach apartment.

Why You Should Eat Breakfast?

Your Memory

A recent study found that people who had nothing or only coffee for breakfast underperformed on short-term memory tests.  You need food to fuel your brain!

Your Energy

The longer you go without eating, the more your body starts to slow or shut down.  Similar to a car without gas, food is your body’s main energy source.  If you skip eating breakfast, you will run low on energy or worse snack before lunch.

Your Concentration

Skipping breakfast impacts your concentration.  As part of our survival instincts, your brain will focus on storing energy if you go a long period of time without eating, making it difficult to concentrate!  Add hunger pangs and headaches from not eating a good breakfast and it will be hard to focus on your daily activities.
