The tourist may think Pompano Beach walks must always include sand. Well, mostly but off the track but still close to the beach are a number of nice hikes one can go on to get away from the ocean for a while.
A fine one canquite easily be found in Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. A terrific stop for the nature enthusiast, the park features a hiking path complete with signs describing the flora and offers a cell phone self-guided tour to keep that information coming.
A real eye-opener of a trail can be found just a little North of Pompano Beach. Catch a boat to Deerfield Beach State Park. The Island features a half mile trail that explores its eastern side and has a platform for observing the intercostal waterway. These hikes are informative and very easy to manage if you haven’t been walking as much as you’d like.
Pompano Beach is a fine place to relocate and living at Jefferson Lighthouse Point gives access to these and many other more strenuous walks. Don’t worry we have a great health and fitness center that can prepare you for anything.
